About

My real name is John Draper,  AKA Cap’n Crunch,   so named from a whistle found in the Cap’n Crunch cereal box.    I was given this name from my long time peers during a time when ATT Long lines used “In-band” signaling.

Later on,   I was active in the FORTH community,  an extensible stack oriented language,  and wrote a word processor which came to be known as EasyWriter,  a name chosen by my friend Steve Sawyer back in 1979 when I needed a word processor to write the FORTH documentation.

The program became so useful,   I was inspired to sell it through Information Unlimited Software,   where IBM Eventually wanted to bundle it with every IBM PC they sell.    Bill Gates,  from Microsoft was also in the running,   but I beat him to it.

I’ve been bouncing around from job to job,   with my greatest job working for AutoDesk,  and a Mac Version of that popular CAD program until John Walker left the company to work for CERN in Switzerland.

Through the help of my friends,  Christine Marie of http://Technorazzi.com,  and Aaron Kronis of http://DigitalVegitarian.com and works for http://gigasavvy.com

I’m also a public speaker,  and if you want me to speak at your school,  college,  or trade show,   please contact me via Email at jdcrunchman@gmail.com

Also,   currently working on my book.   Still looking for a manager,  and a co-author,   so appreciate any leads and help you can offer me.

Thanx for stopping by…
