Steam power generators
Solar and wind power are the most popular means of generating energy, as long as wind is blowing and the sun is shining. There are a lot more sources of “Forgotten” technologies of generating electricity, with some being far out in “Left” field like the forgotten Tesla Papers on power generation my harnessing the ionosphere of the earth and coupling that with tapping the earth’s powerful magnetic field, to generate huge quantities of electrical power and these sources should be re-investigated.
Steam power is another source of mechanical motion to produce electricity, and a number of steam enthusiasts have been playing with Steam engines, mostly for fun and hobby, for many years, http://kineticsteamworks.org/ is one of many, so why not get them to focus on an efficient steam power dynamo that can run from a number of heat sources from a wood burning stove to a large solar reflector.
The blogs on this site are for pulling together this technology to allow for the technology to also inspire experimenting with how big (or small) a steam powered generator it will take to charge a series of storage batteries, or other technologies like in the “Storage” section of the site.
This outfit ha been building steam engines for a long long time, and if you’re an enthusiast in mechanical tinkering, check these out…. http://www.jensensteamengines.com/
Although, these are for hobbyists, it’s not that hard to connect these to a 12 volt alternator to charge a car battery. Wouldn’t that be cool to have one you can put on a campfire to power a campsite like at Burning man. Anyone want to build one of these, go here, and lets discuss it.
